This half day tour covers the famous Eagle's Nest and many of the other historically important sites on the Obersalzberg, including the more hidden locations that most tourists never hear about. The opportunity to visit an original section of the vast underground bunker complex buried deep below the former compound; explore the meandering labyrinth of twisting tunnels and cavernous chambers.

The highlight of this tour is a visit to the famous Eagle's Nest perched atop the Kehlstein mountain at 6, 017ft. Exploring the fascinating history of Hitler's teahouse including the original features, such as the huge marble fireplace and the famous brass elevator. PLEASE NOTE: The Eagle's Nest is only open May - October, depending on weather. If visiting November - April: Although not being able to visit the Eagle's Nest building itself, an in-depth historical account of the Eagle's Nest, using period photos to explain the historical significance of the building is included in this tour. Additionally, there will be an extended driving tour of Berchtesgaden to stop off at other WWII historical sites along the way.

The tour includes a driving tour of the Obersalzberg mountainside with detailed historical commentary throughout, pointing out the most historically significant locations, including: - the site of Hermann Göring's former home, - Albert Speer's former home and studio, - the former RSD Headquarters, - the former SS officers' housing. Plus a visit on foot into the woods to the lesser known ruins of Hitler's Berghof home, including the opportunity to experience the panoramic views that were once on offer from his very house.

My family of four took Tom Lewis' Discover Eagle's Nest tour in October 2024 and had a fantastic time! I had always wanted to visit Eagle's Nest and was excited to learn that a private guided tour was possible. I'm so glad we took this tour. It was a fascinating experience having history come to life before us. Whether that was walking the actual grounds of Hitler's former Berghof, visiting the Eagle's Nest itself, or seeing the vast tunnel system that had been built into the mountains. In addition, the tour is made even better by Tom being such an amazing guide. He's friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about this subject and era. He's a true historian who patiently answered our many questions. He was also very responsive to my email inquiries prior to taking the tour. For anyone with an interest in this important era in world history, this is an amazing tour -- highly recommended!

We really enjoyed this tour and can highly recommend it to all who are interested in this topic! Tom is a friendly and very, very knowledgeable guide. Speaks clear English. He gave us a clear and detailed description of the various sites we went to, the time schedule was well build up, we skipped all lines and we went to the ground were the Berghof used to be. He picked us up on time at the hotel and drove us around the sites. It was not cheap but we thought it was worth it to get private tour in which you can ask a lot of questions (and he could answer them all) instead of being in a very large group. For people who want more inside info than a basic group tour provides.
