I and 2 friends had the pleasure of spending 2 days with Manu on a private tour. Both Manu and his driver Carlos were fantastic! We were able to see the highlights of the city without needing to organize a thing and skipping the lines of people attempting to see the sites on their own. Manu is kind, humorous, positive and full of information about his city. Manu’s tours are customizable, so let him know what you want to see! My request was Real Gabinete Português De Leitura (it is spectacular). Lunch on Day 1 was in a local restaurant (it was fantastic). The highlight for me was visiting the Rocinha Favela, which is definitely something you do not want to do on your own. We felt completely safe with Manu. Lunch that day was at a restaurant in the favela (Novo Visual), what a spectacular view! We would have never found this place without Manu. I will definitely be back to Rio. Obrigado meu amigo Manu!

As soon as I booked our trip to Rio for January 2025 I contacted Manu who had been my guide to Rio back in 2011. I had such good memories from my earlier trip I wanted my partner to enjoy this city as much as I had previously and so it had to be Manu. We had two days of sightseeing - Leme, Sugar Loaf mountain, cathedral, monastery, Lapa & the Selaron stairs the first day then Santa Teresa, Christ the Redeemer, Barra da Tujuca on the second day. Having a personal guide like Manu takes away all the stress at the main sights without the long queues, taken to the best photo opportunities and providing the background and knowledge of the places to really understand and enjoy what they have to offer. Don't hesitate, contact Manu and get the best out of your trip to Rio. Thank you Manu and see you again next year as we have already booked to return.

Manu picked us up at the harbour and we made a lovely trip through Rio, first by tram, then by feet and later with Uber. He is an excellent guide with deep knowledge of his town and showed us places we had never visited without him. Upon special request from us we also went to Ipanema and Copacabana and saw the loveliest places of the beaches there. We felt very comfortably treated and safe at all times. Manu explains very well, he is an open minded person and we had much fun together. It was an excellent tour with a top guide. We highly recommend him.

Manu was absolutely fantastic! He came highly recommended by friends who had taken a private tour with him a few years ago, and he exceeded all expectations. He is extremely knowledgeable, seasoned, and an excellent communicator in both Portuguese and English (which was great since we had Americans in our group). As a photography enthusiast, he also took us to the best spots for stunning views of Rio. He is well connected with the community and got us last minute reservations at great restaurants! Our 2-day trip was truly unforgettable thanks to his expertise and enthusiasm. Highly, highly recommend Manu!

Manu was amazing. We went to a lot of places in Brazil and my kid’s favorite was Rio, and Manu had a lot to do with that. The weather was not great while we were there so he worked to align our schedule to get us the best views and the most activities. He was highly recommended by a friend who had used his services and I understand why. If we return to Rio, we would absolutely hire Manu again.
