Be ready to walk lot and climb a lot stairs, it’s all worth it , you won’t have alot of time maximum your time it will be a long day.

My group of 4 adults really enjoyed this tour. I loved that all the planning and logistics was taken care of for us. We met the bus in Downtown and were first taken to Linderhof Castle then to Neuschwanstein. Along the way, our guide gave us information about what we were passing, and where we were heading. There are beverages and restrooms on the bus. The entrance fees to both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein Castle could be bought on the bus. Once we arrived at each castle, we were clearly given a return time. Both castles provide a guided tour. You are not allowed to take photos inside either Castle. Both tours were set for a specific time. This allows you, especially at Neuschwanstein to walk around, have a meal etc. Of course, don't miss your time slot. One word about Neuschwanstein, it is not handicap friendly. To get to the castle it is a walk straight up a steep hill. There is a horse drawn shuttle, but the line to get on is long, there's a fee and it only takes you up half of the hill. I saw a lot of people with dogs and strollers. These are not allowed in the castle, so I have no idea what or where those people put them. We went on one of the prettiest days. While cold, the sky was clear, everything was covered with sparkling, icy snow, giving it a magical feel. The ride to the Castles was beautiful as well as the Castles themselves.

Everything went smoothly. The bus has a small toilet but to be used only for emergency. Toilet breaks were at Linderhof & Neuschwanstein. We bought our tickets for 41 euros each but later noted that the price of the tickets were 20 (Neuschwanstein) + 9 (Linderhof). So I guess Viator takes a cut from the ticket prices. But it really saved us a lot of hassle getting the tickets for the correct timing of the tours, which were very specific & strict. If you take the shuttle bus to Marien bridge, that shuttle is operated by another company & it was 3.50 euros cash each. The inside of Neuschwanstein & its tour is a little disappointing but that has nothing to do with Viator. Overall, signing up for the tour with Viator saved us a lot of money & hassle.

The experience was great. Johnny was a phenomenon tour guide. He was willing to answer any questions and it was very pleasant. The castle were wonderful and tje trip was just right for a day trip.

You have to pay extra to visit inside both of the castles but I would highly recommend this. The castles were absolutely stunning. inside but no photos are allowed. We managed to visit and walk over St Mary’s bridge. I’d recommend this before entering Neuschwastein castle. We got the bus up and walked down. I wished we had longer to enjoy the views but as it was winter it was getting dark by 5pm. Our guide was good and very knowledgable.
