    Foi fundada em 1853 na cidade de PetrĂ³polis, estado do Rio de Janeiro, pelo colono alemĂ£o Henrique Kremer, na Ă©poca artista com o nome de cervejaria Bohemia. Quando ele faleceu em 1865, a empresa ficou com os seus herdeiros, que a rebatizaram de Augusto Kremer & Cia. Pouco depois de uma dĂ©cada com a separaĂ§Ă£o dos sĂ³cios, a empresa ficou a cargo de Frederico Guilherme Lindscheid. Na Ă©poca de sua fundaĂ§Ă£o, a Bohemia preservou as caracterĂ­sticas das cervejas alemĂ£s da Ă©poca, com uma produĂ§Ă£o inicial de seis mil garrafas por mĂªs. O produto era distribuĂ­do atravĂ©s de charretes, carros puxados por animais etc., e as vendas eram feitas diretamente. Mais tarde, as vendas passaram a ser feitas atravĂ©s de revendedores da regiĂ£o de PetrĂ³polis, regiĂ£o serrana do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Com o passar do tempo, as caracterĂ­sticas amargas e fortes das cervejas alemĂ£s foram sendo alteradas, para entrar em conformidade com o mercado da Ă©poca e com as marcas concorrentes, e o sabor ficou mais leve e menos amargo, chegando ao ponto de como Ă© vendida hoje.

Informational and Interesting!

Eva and Anderson were amazing guides for our family trip to Petropolis! They were not only personable, but they both had a lot of good history and facts for each of the sites, and you can tell their passion for story telling. Also very good for second language English speakers/understanding, as my parents are non native speakers!
