I was looking for a tour that would take me not too far from the city of Mumbai, while still allowing me to discover something other than the usual tourist spots. This tour was perfect for that! At the half-day mark, it's easy to fit into a business trip, and easy to schedule around other visits if you have a full day to fill!
There's a reason why it starts early, and you probably guessed it: it can get pretty hot towards mid-day! Since you're going to walk for a while, an early morning start is the way to go. Thankfully, the car ride stops pretty close to the actual caves, so no need to hike. Also, even though there are 110 caves in total, you only visit a few of them, up to number 45 or so, so not to the top completely. The ones we visited were enough to cover the historical importance of the site, and see a good variety of the caves used by Buddhist monks living there.
The guide was very knowledgeable. He was mindful of the pace I had, was open to taking breaks and such if needed, and gave a perfect amount of information: enough to make it interesting and want to ask questions, but not too much that your brain stops listening.
The driver that ferried us from my hotel to the site and back was also very good and handled traffic well. I would recommend this tour!
