Itinerary

  • Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca is the lush capital of the state of Morelos in Mexico. In the colonial center of the city is the 16th century Palacio de Cortés, former home of the Spanish conqueror Hernán de Cortés and currently a history museum with murals by Mexican artist Diego Rivera. To the southwest is the Cathedral of Cuernavaca, in a 16th century walled monastery with a mural depicting Mexico's first saint

    1 hour

  • Cathedral of the Asencion (Catedral de la Asuncion)

Cuernavaca Cathedral is the seat of the Catholic diocese of the same name in Mexico. It is a 16th century building, which makes it one of the oldest cathedrals in the country. It was originally erected as the convent of the Assumption, the fifth Franciscan foundation in Mexico

    30 minutes

  • Museo regional de los pueblos de Morelos

It is a New Spain civil palace from the 16th century, a historical monument located in Cuernavaca, Morelos (Mexico), ordered to be built by Hernán Cortés in the immediate years after the Conquest of Mexico. It was his residence, after living in Mexico City, where he settled the encomienda given upon receiving the Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca. It bears an enormous similarity to the Alcázar de Colón in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which predates this one (1506). It is currently the headquarters of the Cuauhnáhuac Regional Museum, inaugurated on February 1, 1974.

    30 minutes

  • Taxco

Taxco is a city in the state of Guerrero, southwest of Mexico City. It is famous for the production of silver jewelry and Spanish colonial architecture. Plaza Borda is its main square and houses the iconic Church of Santa Prisca, from the 18th century and pink in color with an elaborate Churrigueresque style

    3 hours

  • Santa Prisca de Taxco

The Temple of Santa Prisca is a colonial monument that is located in the city of Taxco de Alarcón, in the north of the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is a building built in the 1750s (more precisely, between the years 1751 and 1758), dedicated to Catholic worship in that town whose main activity was - and continues to be - silver mining. The construction was ordered by José de la Borda, one of the most prosperous mining entrepreneurs in the Taxco region in the 18th century. Although he had arrived in Taxco only about thirty-five years before the construction of the Santa Prisca temple, José de la Borda was already one of the most important figures of the mineral, which is why the Archdiocese of Mexico allowed him to erect the parish at your entire taste

    30 minutes

  • Plaza Borda

The Borda Square or Zócalo de Taxco, is the main square of Taxco de Alarcón, located in the Historic Center, it was founded on January 1, 1978 and is surrounded by farms and the Parish of Santa Prisca, between small streets and winding alleys , roofs, terraces and facades of lime that hang from the slopes and ravines. In the surroundings there are silver shops, restaurants and boutiques, it is in this Plaza where the International Guitar Competition and Festival is organized

    1 hour

  • Garden Borda Cultural Center

The Borda Garden is a historical museum located in the city of Cuernavaca and is located in what was the summer mansion of the wealthy miner from Taxco, José de la Borda. During the Second Mexican Empire, the Emperor of Mexico, Maximiliano de Habsburgo together with his wife Carlota Amalia chose this place as their summer residence and because of this, the road from Mexico City to Cuernavaca was improved.

Invaluable Knowledge & Experience

Published on May, 2024

This was truly an invaluable experience my daughter and I will treasure for the rest of our lives. Our guide, Sergio, and driver, Arturo, were both full of knowledge and experience that brought these beautiful places to life for us. We are so grateful for them!

Best tour guide in Mexico!

Published on Oct, 2023

If we could give 10 stars, we would! Sergio is the best tour guide in Mexico City, and we’ve been coming here for more than 5 years and have done many tours. This experience to Cuernavaca and Taxco will be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had in Mexico. Truly worth it! Arturo was a great driver and got us there and back quickly and safely. Sergio is a great storyteller with so much knowledge about Mexico, and you truly feel like you’ve learned and explored at the same time. What a memorable experience! We will book with Sergio again!

Nice tour in the mountains

Published on Nov, 2022

Excellent trip if you want to explore a quirky mountain town. I wasn’t feeling good (too much tequila) but our tour guide Maximo was very attentive and accommodating to us. It’s a long ride with many curves “Curvas Peligrosas” and high altitude so take some medicine if you’re not used to that. Great place to buy silver goods. Would recommend!

Phenomenal tour company!

Published on May, 2022

We used Mexico Tour Freelance every day for a week, combining multiple tours shown on Tripadvisor. The whole time we were with the same tour guide, Arturo, who was full of great information. We also had Christian as our driver every day, who expertly navigated that crazy Mexico City traffic. Together they did a fantastic job making customizations to all of the tours on the fly when something came up that interested one of us. Did this tour on our last night, and it was a beautiful way to end the vacation. Cuernavaca is was a brief visit to a few main sites, then it was on to Taxco which was really different. Narrow streets winding up the hill make the ride way up to the overlook exciting, and the panoramic view is beautiful.
