Overview

Enjoy a full day exploring the Furnas Volcano and the Northeast on a guided tour for a small group, in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle. Stops include the Gorreana Tea Factory and Plantation, the "Véu da Noiva" waterfall in the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park and several opportunities to observe the diverse volcanic activity of Furnas. If you choose to include lunch in your tour, you will be served the most authentic dish of the Azores, the Furnas stew, cooked in the volcanic soil of the volcano. Accompanied by a 100% Local guide, you will spend the day on an excursion to the famous landmarks of Furnas and Nordeste. Your professional guide will explain the history, ecology and geology of the sites throughout the day. This small group tour has a maximum of 8 people, ensuring a personalized experience of the east of São Miguel.

    From this magnificent viewpoint, you will have a stunning view over the entire north coast of SĂŁo Miguel.

On the way back from the Northeast, the stop at the Gorreana tea factory allows you to stroll through the stunning plantation, photograph, taste and learn everything about tea production in the Azores. You can also buy your tea or souvenir at the handicraft shop.

  • Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes

    Ex-libris in the Northeast region! An old area of water mills converted into an enchanting natural park where you can find the beautiful waterfall "Véu da Noiva". Here you will have access to changing rooms, a café or a handicraft shop where you can buy your souvenir.

    Vila das Furnas is located in a valley known by locals as Vale Encantado das Furnas. Discover several boiling water boilers and several fumaroles in this area. You will have the opportunity to taste several mineral waters.

  • Lagoa das Furnas

    Stop at Lagoa das Furnas where you will find the chapel of Nossa SrÂŞ das Vitorias, unique in its Gothic style. Around the lagoon there is a set of wooden statues that will provide fun photographs.

  • Vila Franca do Campo

    Visit what was the first capital of SĂŁo Miguel, destroyed in 1522 with a break at Vila Franca Marina where you can have your coffee in the place where the typical and unique "Vila Queijadas" are produced

    Optionally visit the Volcanic Park where the famous "cozido" is made next to the Furnas lagoon and walk through boilers of boiling and muddy water. (admission not included, 3€ per person)

Fun experience jammed into one day

Fun guide fun group. Booked it day before because we didn’t want to rent a car on tight streets. It was awesome. Professional local and fun driver.

An amazing tour with Joao!

I went with three of my friends on a northeastern tour around the east circle and Furnas volcano, and it was one of our favorite experiences! Joao was an amazing tour guide; he was incredibly knowledgable and funny. We had a lot of laughs in our group, and it made the tour one of the best ones I have been on. I definitely will visit again!

We had an amazing time on our tour with Join Tinerary! Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also funny, making the experience even more enjoyable. The views were breathtaking, especially from the Miradouro de Santa Iria. The stop at the Gorreana Tea Factory was great – we loved the free tea! He was super helpful with taking our photos, and the warm water at the thermal baths was perfect for a relaxing swim. Every stop was well planned, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Highly recommend this tour!
