  • Lagoa do Fogo

    Start this tour driving up to the Fire Volcano where the Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lagoon) is nestled. Excellent photo opportunities of both south and north sides of the island arise at the top of the most recent volcanic formation of São Miguel. Feel the involving nature mixed with abundant bird sounds. (We may need to rearrange the time we visit depending on the clouds coverage

    Visit the second-biggest city of São Miguel, Ribeira Grande, the Azorean capital of surf. Check the emblematic beaches on the north side, a waterfall that drops directly to the ocean and take a walk around the historical main square and churces, discover why it s named Ribeira Grande

  • Miradouro de Santa Iria

    On our way forward we ll get off the main road to discover some of the older roads used by our ancestors to travel through the north, where nature has retaken its space due to minimal human intervention. Admire beautiful landscapes of the northern cliffs, hills and pastures from privileged viewpoints

    Learn about the traditional tea cultivation at the Azores, the very few places that completly produce tea in Europe. Walk along different waterfalls and old water mills, great photo opportunities arise in every corner

Magical and unforgettable experience

I am writing this review after one month of the trip and the sights Ivo took us to are still blowing my mind , such a warm personality and highly motivated guide! If I ever come back to São Miguel Ivo will be my first choice for any kind of activity , Best regards and hope to see you again!

We had a lot of fun chasing waterfalls, visiting two tea plantations, and stopping to see all of the wonderful views. The food was so good as well!

Got to taste an amazing cozido das furnas, cooked in geothermal heat, and taste amazing mineral waters right from the springs, with Ivo's guidance. The thermal spa was beautiful at night and, of course, relaxing. Great for solo travelers like me.
