We had a lovely morning with Dani who lead a comfortable and very informative tour of the northwest side of the island. The scenery is incredibly gorgeous and Dani entertained us with folklore, history, and cultural tidbits. There were many stops along the way for photos and/ or new information about what we were seeing. It was fun to walk about the town for a few minutes and then later to visit the pineapple plantation.

We had an amazing time with tours from Picos de Aventura! We spent three days with our wonderful tour guide, Diogo and a half-day dolphin watching. Diogo is very friendly and approachable. He is passionate about his work and knowledgeable as well. He had a lot of anecdotes about the different aspects and parts of the island. He was very open to teaching us some Portuguese, and I think he learned some French as well! Do not hesitate to ask him questions; he loves to answer them! Diogo's a safe driver, so you don't have to worry about those narrow and twisting roads, but take some medication just in case you get motion sickness. Unfortunately, there was a lot of unexpected weather (rain, fog, wind), but thankfully Saint Peter was there to save the day. But be prepared because you may not always see those lakes. And bring that rain jacket! As for the whale and dolphin watching tour, don't expect the whales - more often than not, they won't be there. But there are A LOT of dolphins. And if you get seasick, it will be a rough ride. Had a lovely afternoon tour with Diego. He was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. He took us to some beautiful places. We finished the day at a pineapple plantation where we sampled the liquor juice and fruit after an informative tour. Good day to explore the Azores!
