Itinerary

Pico Carvao

Upon reaching the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades, the first stop is at the Pico do Carvão viewpoint, from here we can see a large part of the island, the entire north coast, the complex of peaks and the volcanic complex of Serra de Água de Pau and thus the guide can explain the geological formation of the island.

Lagoa do Canario

The small lagoon of Canário located in the vicinity of the caldera of the volcano of the seven cities, is inserted in a forest park, here in addition to visiting the lagoon, you will also find one of the most emblematic viewpoints on the island of São Miguel, the viewpoint of Grota do inferno . Vista do Rei Miradouro

The viewpoint of Vista do Rei is one of the most famous in the Azores, from here you can contemplate the entire caldera of the volcano, where in its interior there are several lakes and the peaceful Vila das Sete Cidades.

Already inside the caldera, we have the small village of the seven cities on the banks of the lagoon. Here you can enjoy a pedestrian walk through beautiful gardens on the banks of the lagoons, visit the environmental center, the church of São Nicolau or just have a coffee on the banks of the lagoon..

Ilheus Dos Mosteiros Aka Ponta Dos Mosteiros

A few minutes from Ponta da Ferraria we have the parish of Mosteiros, located in a lava fajã with about 1100 inhabitants, it is an excellent summer destination due to its beaches, natural pools and its beautiful islets on the horizon.

Private Tour Sete Cidades with TIAGO

This was an amazing PRIVATE TOUR with 4Platanos Tours. Our guide/driver was TIAGO, who was very professional and kind. Offered suggestions along the way, stopped where we wanted, and kept us right on time! Had a fantastic lunch at his family restaurant, which was tremendous. A full red snapper fish, along with veggies, bread, wine/ soft drinks. and dessert. Of course there were other things to choose also. Nice modern restaurant with a great view, and along the tour route. This was definitely worth the money especially if two or more of you are splitting the cost! Much more comfortable than hopping in/out of a van of 8 people. You will not be disappointed! This is the way to go!

Fabulous tour of Sao Miguel Island

Nilton of 4Plantanos was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. He was very informative regarding the life, history and cultures of the Azores Islands and took us to the many highlights of the north part of Sao Miguel Island. We enjoyed our lunch at Nilton’s family restaurant which was included in the tour. Highly recommend 4Plantanos tours and would definitely use this operator to see the rest of the island during our next visit.

From the moment we were picked up, we knew we’d made the right choice! This small enterprise of two brothers (and their family restaurant) is a perfect way to see the west side of the island, culminating in a FABULOUS lunch (with equally amazing views). Every turn of the car brings more incredible scenery and knowledge of this island.

We loved this tour! We booked it last minute when our flight was cancelled and we had a full day in the Azores instead of a brief layover. This delay ended up being one of the best days of our trip, thanks to Ludgero. He and his family run this tour, which included lunch at their family restaurant, 4 Plantanos. We saw more than we anticipated and Ludgero was so kind and entertaining. The island is indescribably beautiful! We definitely will return for a full trip to the Azores and will use this company again! The tour ended with lunch, which was the best meal we had in two different trips to Portugal. Absolutely delicious!

Great tour of Azores

This was a great experience. We went around the island and saw several views of the lakes and volcanoes. It was difficult due to the cloudy weather. Our driver knew many facts about the history of the island. We saw so much. We also had an excellent lunch at 4 plantos restaurant and made it back to the ship in plenty of time.
