I went with my family, including my parents who are in their mid-60s. We all had a really amazing and memorable day! The mode of transport is a speed boat, and it was quite bumpy! A few people got quite seasick. They have a seasick tablet that you can take beforehand if you are prone to travel sickness. We went quite late in the season, but still saw plenty of fish. The water was warm and it was a lot of fun swimming around the ocean. There was plenty of water and soda available throughout the trip. There was also a big lunch provided. As well as a small breakfast and snacks at the end of the day. I recommend going in your swimwear! The first snorkelling stop is off the boat, so there’s no where to change once you get there.

We've been on plenty of snorkelling trips in Thailand, Bali and Mexico - a 'group' trip - this was the most organized and well-planned we've been on. The trip was fabulous - we had 4 stops - 2 snorkelling, one lunch and the other at the beach where you could hike up the rocks, snorkel, or do both. The boats are great and the staff was even better. Super organized - not overcrowded. The snorkel equipment was very good - nice clear masks and good snorkels with a detachable mouthpiece given separately. The food was good and generous. They had vegetarian options if anyone required them. Even having the shoes laid out at the end of the trip was impressive. Great team on board - excellent English and attention to details and passengers needs. Super fun :-)

We did the Similan islands snorkel tour on boat number 2. Our tour guide Way is the best! She is ably supported by Jenny and the rest of the crew. Buses that pick you up run on time, we were staying in Khao Lak. Breakfast is served prior to boarding, I dont know what it was as I had mine earlier Clear instructions given to the group, prior to boarding, for what you are about to do and where you are going. If you cant swim well, a guide will pull you along on a flotation device so you can also snorkel and see all the fishies. Lunch is basic but enough, fried chicken, salad and soup The beaches are wonderful to swim at although the second beach does have a reef close to shore but if thats the biggest problem its not to much At the end of the day you are given sweets to refuel on the boat. Back at the marina, dinner is served, gai yung, som tam, korneaw and beer! It is a great tour for the price. My wife and I felt that we were really looked after. We shall be back again to do another tour

I did both Similan and Surin Islands with SeaStar and both tours were incredible and left from the Khao Lak area where I was staying. The Similan Islands had slightly better snorkeling if you're trying to decide between the two - but if you have time do both! There are a lot of free inclusions as well: seasickness medicine, water, and Pepsi on the boat, breakfast, lunch, and a bbq dinner on return as well as fresh fruit and biscuits to snack on during the tour. They also provide a towel on the boat which is great if you don't want to carry one around all day and of course your snorkel and mask. Bring some Thai baht with you to tip the tour guides and boat captain at the end (very well deserved) and for any little purchases on the islands.

I recently took my family - including 2 young children aged 4 and 2 years old on a trip to Surin Islands. It was a fantastic day out and priced at just the right point. The tour was very well organized and all 6 staff on board were extremely friendly, diligent, safety-conscious and great with our kids and other people's children too. A maximum 10/10 or A+ from me and my wife. As a side note, we have been to the Maldives 3 times in the past 10 years, and I can honestly say that the coral we saw at the Surin Islands was in better health than the bleached coral that much of the Maldives has had to deal with. This was an unexpected surprise.
