Start your day by arriving directly at the Curi Cancha private reserve. After a quick and easy check-in process, you'll get set to explore the destination with your experienced guide. Follow your guide as they show you the biodiversity of the area while you also learn about the natural and cultural history of Monteverde. Explore the wonders of the reserve, boasting an incredible variety of biodiversity in the environment. Your guide will show around the different environments in the reserve Enjoy the scenarios full of beautiful views and nature. There are big chances to spot different birds species depending on the time of the year like Resplendent Quetzal, Toucans, Mot Mot, and the Three-wattled bellbird. Throughout the course of your tour there will also be plenty of chances to spot Diurnal mammals like Coatis, monkeys, Agoutis, and Peccary.

  • Curi-Cancha Reserve

    Enjoy the Tropical Cloud forest in Monteverde A walk through primary and secondary forest in the Monteverde cloud forest. A combination of natural history, bird watching. You will have the chance to spot some species of mammals like monkeys, coatis, agoutis, peccaries and amazing birds like toucans, motmots, the quetzal as well many others. The two different forests provides a variety of flora and fauna which give us bigger chances to find a lot of wildlife and appreciate the diversity of flora. A Passionate and experienced local guide with great knowledge of the local flora and fauna of the area will show you the trails complex and help you spot the amazing treasures of the tropical forest of Monteverde. Your guide can help you get pictures of the wildlife you see during the tour (optional). Join us and let your senses feel the walk in the cloud forest. Tour Schedule Available at 8:00AM and 11:00AM

Best tour guide around

My wife and I booked a birding tour in Curi Cancha reserve with Dani at the last minute. We were concerned that the tour didn’t get booked because there were only my wife and I on this tour. But we were relived when Dani arrived and got us ready for the tour. We were impressed by his knowledge and his ability to find the birds in the foliage. He even found a resplendent Quetzal, which other group guides quickly joined us to show to their groups. Dani was also knowledgeable about the flora and the fauna in the reserve and shared so much information about the threatened species. He is part of the efforts made to help these species recover, which is a worthwhile effort. Ala in all my wife and I were really happy with the tour and in addition to some beautiful pictures, we brought back some amazing memories.

Fully met the expectations

Really met our expectations, great diversity of both the fauna and the place. We saw plenty of beautiful animals while enjoying a great hike in the reserve. Even thought this was our 3rd guided tour already, and we’ve already heard all the basics, our guide was to keep things very engaging. Tip: the pass to the reserve is valid all day, so next time I would get a guided tour, and then extend my stay visiting the remaining parts of the reserve.

Excellent tour in a peaceful reserve

This was an excellent tour with guide Nestor. We saw a whole range of different birds and animals in this lovely small and quiet reserve. The reserve has stunning views out over the Nicoya peninsula. Well worth a visit.

Amazing night tour with lots of animals! Nico was an amazing tour guide and had us entertained the entire time! Highly recommend booking a tour through him in order to see tons of wildlife and a fun guide!

I booked a guided tour in Curi-cancha reserve with Dani. He is a local boy, has good command of the language and knows his thing. I am a wildlife photographer, so it was important for me to see species, have my own time to get some pictures and know how to spot them. Thant is what Dani exactly did with me. I was the only one with him so we had enough time for everything. I would recommend him.
