We will get in touch once you have booked to organise and confirm your specific pick up location & time. Your tour, including your pick up and drop off, is totally customised to suit your timing (the booking system requires a start time, we chose 9.30 as that was frequently ... chosen). Cruise Ship passengers are picked up directly from the Port and independent travellers are picked up from your centrally located accommodation. Itinerary

Porirua Harbour

Your itinerary will reflect your interests, time available and the weather. If there is something particular you have in mind, please let us know. We will stop for lunch along the way, location based around when hunger strikes. Heading north, we drive around the visually beautiful & historically significant Porirua Harbour. For people interested in visual arts, we can stop at the Pātaka Art Museum to check out their current community & cultural exhibitions.

Queen Elizabeth Park

Driving the Centennial Highway to the delightful seaside village of Paekākāriki, we check out the village & the beach. We can also visit QEII Park museum dedicated to the 15,000 US troops stationed there in WWII.

Southward Car Museum

For the car lovers out there - we can visit the Southern Hemisphere's premier privately owned automotive collection at Paraparaumu. Revisit your childhood with over 400 cars for viewing.

Paraparaumu Beach

Walk on the beach, enjoy close up views of Kapiti Island, check out the shops or lunch on fresh locally caught Fish and Chips.

Battle Hill Farm Forest Park

Offering incredible views of the Kāpiti Coast, we will drive over the Paekākāriki Hill to the Hutt Valley. Along the way we will stop for photos, possibly meeting some eels at the historic Battle Hill Farm & visit the wetlands of Pāuatahanui.

Petone Foreshore

Our next leg is through the beautiful Hutt Valley to Petone Beach. Here you can choose to wander through the bush, explore the shops or visit the Settlers Museum at Petone Beach, where the first British settlers arrived in Wellington in 1840.

Wellington Botanic Garden

Returning to the city, we will drive along the Harbour’s edge on land raised in the massive 1855 earthquake. If time permits, we will finish off with a drive through historic Thorndon village & a visit to the Botanic Gardens, before dropping you at your preferred location.

My wife and I had the most amazing tour of the area and got to see it from a local's perspective. Suzee was so accommodating and informative as we saw areas we wanted to know more about. She took the time to explain the areas to us. Suzee took time to understand us and what was important to us. I really appreciated that. Many tours are so repetitive and seem Step by Step. Suzee could see we wanted an off the script view of Wellington and the area, a feel for life there, and she delivered big time. I know Suzee already knew me enough to realize this review would be late as we built a friendship and understanding during the day. Yes, the reviews of tours typically fall to my wife. We have had amazing tours on this trip and on many of the trips we've taken before but I've never had a guide with Suzee's passion for the area. And I've never made a friend on a tour before. For a great tour where the guide wants to know what you want to see. This is the right choice. Suzee, Thanks for a great day

Our Tour Wellington Region Full Day Private Tour: Get out of the City was FANTASTIC AND AWESOME AND GORGEOUS. Our tour guide Jo was amazing We started Kaitoke Regional Park near Tararua Mountains and Rivendell (Lord of The Rings movie location). Absolutely Stunning views. Then we Te Kopahou Reserve with beautiful breathtaking views We drove on a gorgeous scenic road overlooking stunning beautiful beaches We ate at wonderful restaurant Weta Workshop was Fantastic for LOTR fans We went on to tons of other great Wellington sightseeing areas Awesome Amazing Fantastic tour

I had a very short amount of time in Wellington and wanted to make the most of it. I wanted to find a tour company that would help me achieve this, and based on the reviews I chose Suzee at uTours. I’m so glad I did. You won’t get a better tour experience than this. She brought me by the best of Wellington, and out to Paekākāriki, Queen Elizabeth Park, and Paraparaumu. I was able to take in the beauty of the New Zealand landscape from perspectives you wouldn’t get on an ordinary tour. The tour van is very comfortable and safe. Suzee has a warm and welcoming personality. She makes you feel very comfortable, and provides you with a narrative so you really get an understanding and appreciation of your surroundings. Planning was easy. Suzee responded right away, listened to what I was looking for and delivered on it. I did not want a cookie cutter, tourist trap type of tour – and Suzee gave me exactly that. I’m so grateful I got to spend my time with her. A private tour with Suzee is well worth the money – especially for a single traveler. You won’t get lost in a crowd of people on a bus, you’ll see more and you will feel very safe. Thank you Suzee and uTours for a fabulous adventure!
