Overview

Take an exhilarating ride down Jasper's mighty Fraser River on this whitewater rafting adventure. You'll have a heart-pumping time rafting down Class-3 rapids surrounded by awe-inspiring Canadian Rockies scenery. Keep an eye out for wildlife and seasonal spawning salmon!

Beside Public Washroom – Look for white Maligne Rafting Van in public parking lot on Cnr. Connaught Dr & Hazel Ave. Check-in required 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Itinerary

On this exciting Class 3+ whitewater adventure, you will be transported by bus from Jasper to our launching point near Mount Robson.  Your guide will provide the necessary technical equipment including paddles, wetsuits, neoprene booties, paddle jackets and helmets. Being prepared with your swimsuit on under your clothes allows you to be suited up and ready for the river in record time After a short instruction/safety briefing in the shadow of Mount Robson, your highly experienced, certified river guide will launch your raft into the river and expertly maneuver it downriver through sections of turbulent rapids and swirling eddies.  About mid-way downriver, you'll pull-in to the shore for a short land portage around the impressive Rearguard Falls. Jumping back on board your raft at the base of the falls, you'll continue through more sections of whitewater, passing steep canyon walls while surrounded by a backdrop of spectacular Canadian Rockies scenery. Be sure to keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife and seasonal spawning salmon along the way.  The total round-trip time is 5 hours which includes 2 hours of rafting (with a short portage), instruction/safety briefing and bus transfers to/from Jasper. This tour takes you down Class-3 rapids, which are considered intermediate, making this an exciting, wet and adrenaline-producing trip for all experience levels. Rafters must be 12 years of age or older and weight at least 90 lbs (41 kgs).   • Participants must be at least 12 years of age and weigh a minimum of 90 lbs (41 kg).
  • Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Dress with a swimsuit underneath your street clothing and bring warm clothing for afterwards. It is also recommended to bring a drink and snack for after the tour.
  • This trip runs in all weather conditions. Participants will be provided with all the necessary technical equipment including wetsuits, spray jackets, neoprene booties, helmets and lifejackets, however on cooler days, those prone to feeling the cold should bring either a fleece or wool jacket to wear underneath the spray jacket (No cotton should be worn)
  • You are required to check-in 15 minutes prior to departure time at our pick up location which is the parking lot across the street from the Shell gas station.
  • All departure times listed are in Alberta Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST).
  • Not recommended for those with back injuries
  • Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
  • Boat configuration is at the discretion of raft guides and will be determined on the day based on overall group size. While the best effort is made to keep groups together in same raft, due to logistics, this cannot be guaranteed.

Great rapids and fun guides!

Guides were fun and experienced. The ride was a blast, and our guide made sure we got as wet as possible, and hit the rapids at speed to get some height and splash. Plus we got to see eagles on the rocks!

I was dreading this! I was so out of my comfort zone! The day was so well organised! The staff were such a fantastic group! All so lovely and helpful. We had Andy who was our guide ( he had control of the raft ) he was brilliant! He was so positive! Professional and absolutely hilarious!!! All everyone did on our raft was laugh and enjoy every minute!!! So thanks Andy!!!

We had an amazing time, the guides were very friendly, the river was beautiful and some of the rapids were pretty big, making for an exhilarating experience! Definitely got wet/soaked, but the wetsuits and kit provided kept us warm enough. Take snacks and dry clothes for the drive back!

Amazing rafting experience. Skilled and very friendly guides and an awesome tour(including a nice waterfall for a quick hike around and watching jumping salmons). Highly recommend it!

Fraser River Class 3+ whitewater rafting

Rafting with this company was the highlight of our whole trip in Alberta! All the staff, including our amazing guide Austin, was so energetic and nice from start to finish. Austin was very friendly, fun, and informative as well. I did the class 3+ as someone with no rafting experience and I reccomend it as the views of Fraser River are great and you get chances to see wildlife (we saw 2 bald eagles and a black bear) and experience the rough but not too vigorous experience of the rapids. Our whole experience went well, super smoothly, and on time because of the well trained staff in this reputable company that kept us safe but still made every moment fun. Highly reccomend this company! :))
