That means more time we can spend on ice. • Evening departure (June - August) If you want to avoid the crowds join us for our evening tour and enjoy the complete silence.

Meeting points

The meeting point is at Skaftafell Terminal Tour Center (Skaftafell Airport). Skaftafell Terminal Tour Center is OUTSIDE of the National Park. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to starting time. Bring clothing according to weather.

If you have never seen a glacier before and you would like to experience these stunning ice giants a little bit closer, come to the breathtaking area of Skaftafell. Skaftafell is located in Vatnajökull national park, the filming location of movies like Batman Begins, Interstellar and the Game of Thrones series. To maximize the time spent on ice, we drive all the way to the terminus of Falljökull glacier in our 4×4 truck. Before you step on to the ice you will learn the proper way to put on and use the provided glacier gear. We aim to spend around one and a half hour on the ice, exploring moulins, crevasses and more other-wordly formations. Along the way your guide will share ineresting facts about these formations and the origins of the glacier as well as interesting local stories.

Enjoyable experience!

The glacier hike was well organized without any delays or hiccups. Our tour guide Javi was funny and very knowledgeable - not just about the glacier but Iceland in general and he had useful tips for other attractions in the area. Also, he is an excellent photographer and can take breathtaking pictures for you. We felt that we were in safe hands.

Fanny was an exceptional guide! Really enjoyed our time on the glacier. Was supposed to be a small group tour but ended up only the 2 of us, & we had an extremely educational, specialized experience Highly recommend

We loved our hike. We got clear instructions on use of the crampons and what to expect on the glacier. We especially liked looking into the crevasse. One of our favorite activities in Iceland.

On top of the Glaciers

Kallia was our guide for this tour. She was wonderful and gave us so much insight on the glaciers. We didn’t have a large group like the other tours we saw which gave us a more personalized experience. We had a great time exploring the beautiful glacier, taking time to take in the scenery, trying the refreshing glacial water. It was a memorable experience, highly recommend.

Kate was an amazing guide. This small group tour is definitely the way to go. She chatted with all of us, gave super interesting facts, made sure we were super comfortable and gave us a "Viking" drinking experience if glacier water. Think push ups on ice ax over glacier water. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Highly recommend
